Safely on the water
Our safety guidelines were developed together with water safety organizations.
Before you start
- Check the weather forecast — do not go on the water during thunderstorms or storms
- Swimming ability is required
- Apply sunscreen and bring enough water
- Store your smartphone in the waterproof dry bag
On the water
- Keep your distance from boats, buoys, and swimmers
- Stay close to the shore, especially as a beginner
- In wind, always start against the wind — this makes it easier to return
- Be considerate of other water users
In an emergency
- Sit or lie on the board and call for help
- Never let go of the board — it is your life-saving device
- In case of immediate danger: dial the EU emergency number 112
Tips for beginners
- Start on your knees and only stand up when you feel confident
- Look forward, not at your feet
- Choose calm water — lakes are better suited than rivers
- For your first sessions, book shorter durations (1–2 hours)
